3 days in Liverpool in collaboration with Ibis Styles

We've just got back from the most incredible 2 day stay at Ibis Styles Liverpool . How fabulous is our room? As two massive Beatlemaniacs we were delighted to be invited to stay in one of our favourite cities. This post is our review of the hotel itself, for our 3 day itinerary go HERE!

The hotel is gorgeous, Beatles themed throughout, from the beautiful mural in the lobby to the bedrooms. Each floor has it's own theme, and we were on Floor 1, Fab Four. We wonder what the Strawberry Fields Forever and Ticket to Ride rooms looked like!

Our room was ridiculously comfy. Big soft queen bed, lovely strong shower, and the grooviest decor we've ever seen- look at the Fab Four faces on the wall! The swirly blue carpet was like something out of an Austin Powers film, and monochrome moustaches decorated the walls, wardrobe and bathroom door. The only criticism we would give, if we had to scrape the barrel for one, is that the bathroom door had to be slammed in order to shut it, as the door handle was fixed in place and wouldn't turn, so you had to pull it quite hard to get the mechanism to close. Sorry neighbours (and David!) for any late night loo visits...

Let's talk about the breakfast- we're putting it out there, this was probably the nicest hotel brekkie we've ever had! Everything is served continental brekkie style, with a range of breads and cereals, ham and salami, cheese, thick cut sliced tomato, cucumber and guacamole, plus yoghurt, smoothie shots and pastries. The coffee machine is available to guests all day which we thought was a nice touch- we definitely popped in for one to take away on our way from the Walker Art Gallery back to the waterfront.

The Ibis Styles is the perfect location for a Liverpool citybreak- only a street or so away from the Cavern Club (and so the ideal staggering distance after a big night dancing) , 15 minutes walk to waterfront museums, Pier Head and the Mersey Ferries, and about 10 minutes walk the other way to the Walker Art Gallery.

We would absolutely come and stay here every time we're in Liverpool, and would recommend it to anyone thinking of heading up north. If you're a Beatles fan it's an absolute must, so fun to stay in a themed hotel celebrating all things JPG&R! The staff couldn't have been more lovely, and if you park in the NCP round the back then they'll give you a voucher to knock the car park down to £9 for 24 hours.
